Heather Nagami is the author of Hostile (Chax Press). A Kundiman fellow, Heather's poems have appeared in Xcp: Cross-Cultural Poetics, Spiral Orb, Shifter, Rattle, Zocalo, and Antennae. Two of her poems were finalists for the 2015 Rita Dove Poetry Award.
Born and raised in Southern California, Heather is fourth generation Japanese American and the grandniece of poet Akira Togawa. Heather received her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from University of Arizona and her B.A. in Literature with a Creative Writing emphasis from University of California, Santa Cruz. She currently resides in Arizona, where she is writing her second book.
